Terms of use and sale

What Sanifers does, what sellers and couriers do, and what happens when an order goes wrong.

Last updated: August 5, 2026

Translation. This English version is provided for convenience; if it differs from the French version, the French version prevails. Document pending review. The text faithfully describes how the platform actually works, but has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel. It must be before any commercial launch, in particular on matters of Ivorian consumer law and the WAEMU rules on holding funds on behalf of third parties.

1.Purpose and acceptance

These terms govern the use of the Sanifers marketplace, available through the Sanifers and Sanifers Drive mobile apps and through this website.

Creating an account means accepting these terms. Anyone who does not accept them must not use the service.

We may change them. Any change is announced in the app before it takes effect and never applies to an order already placed.

2.Role of Sanifers

Sanifers is an intermediary. We connect independent sellers, buyers and couriers. We are neither the seller nor the manufacturer of the items offered.

The sales contract is formed between the buyer and the seller. Sanifers is not a party to it, but takes part in it in three ways, detailed in these terms: holding the funds until delivery, arranging transport, and settling disputes.

Being an intermediary does not release us from our obligations: articles 6 and 8 bind us on holding the funds and on handling disputes.

3.User account

An account is created with a phone number, verified by a one-time code. It is personal: its holder is responsible for everything done with it.

To open an account, you must:

  • be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a legal guardian;
  • provide accurate information and keep it up to date;
  • not hold several accounts to get around a suspension.

An account may be suspended for fraud, counterfeiting, prohibited content or endangering another user. The suspension is reasoned and notified.

Anyone can ask to close their account at any time: the procedure is described here.

4.Sellers’ obligations

The seller undertakes to:

  • offer only items they actually hold and are entitled to sell;
  • describe each item faithfully, with photos of the actual item rather than images found elsewhere;
  • show a price including all taxes, with no hidden fees;
  • keep their pickup address up to date, where the courier will collect parcels;
  • prepare the parcel within a reasonable time after the order;
  • comply with Ivorian law, in particular on tax and consumer protection.

The following are prohibited, among others: counterfeits, weapons, narcotics, medicines, protected species, official documents, third parties’ personal data, and any goods whose sale is regulated when the seller does not hold the required authorisation.

A seller is an independent professional. They are neither an employee nor an agent of Sanifers, and declare their own income.

5.Orders and prices

An order is final once paid. The price shown at checkout is the one that applies, and is made up of:

  • the price of the items, set by the seller;
  • the delivery fee, calculated from the actual distance between the pickup point and the delivery address;
  • the purchase protection, whose amount is shown before checkout. It funds the refund provided for in article 8.

Prices are in CFA francs (XOF). Photos illustrate the item, without commitment on colour shades that depend on the screen.

6.Payment and holding of funds

Payment is made by mobile money (Orange Money, MTN, Moov, Wave) or by bank card, through licensed payment providers. Sanifers does not keep any card data.

The funds are not paid to the seller at the time of payment. Sanifers holds them until delivery is confirmed under the conditions of article 7.

This is the heart of the service. A seller who does not ship receives nothing; a buyer who receives nothing gets their money back.

Once delivery is confirmed, Sanifers takes its commission from the price of the items and credits the balance to the seller’s wallet. The applicable rate is the one shown in the app at the time of the sale; a change never applies retroactively to an order already placed.

The seller may request a withdrawal of their balance from the minimum amount shown in the app. Each request is checked before payment, which may take a few working days. A withdrawal can only be paid into an account in the holder’s name.

7.Delivery and proof of handover

Delivery is carried out by independent couriers approved by Sanifers. The courier collects the parcel at the seller’s pickup point, then hands it to the buyer at the address given.

The buyer follows the trip in the app and has an estimated arrival time, calculated from the actual route and traffic. This estimate is not a contractual delivery commitment.

The handover is proven by a code. In their app, the buyer has a QR code and a six-digit code. The courier scans one or enters the other. This check is made by our server, never by the app alone.

  • Without this code or QR code, a courier cannot mark a delivery as completed.
  • Exceptionally, our team may confirm a handover after checking. The confirmation method used is recorded and can be consulted.
  • The buyer should only share their code once they have the parcel in hand.

If the buyer is absent or cannot be reached, the courier reports the problem. The order is then handled under article 8.

8.Disputes, refunds and withdrawal

The buyer may open a dispute from their order for one of the following reasons: item not received, not as described, damaged, or another problem.

Opening a dispute immediately freezes the funds, even if a delivery confirmation happens at the same moment. The seller is not paid while the dispute is open.

Our team reviews the evidence from both parties and decides on:

  • a full refund to the buyer, delivery fee included when nothing was received;
  • a partial refund, when the item was received but is not as described;
  • rejection of the dispute and release of the funds to the seller.

The refund is made by the same means as the payment. The time it takes to become available depends on the payment provider.

Before shipping, an order can be cancelled and fully refunded. Once the courier has collected the parcel, cancellation falls under the dispute procedure above.

Personalised, perishable or unsealed hygiene items are not taken back, unless defective.

9.Published content

Sellers publish photos, videos and lives. Each remains the owner of what they publish and grants Sanifers the right to display, resize and distribute it in the app, on the website and in our communications, for as long as it is published.

Sanifers may remove without notice any content that is unlawful, misleading or contrary to these terms. Content can be reported to support@sanifers.com.

The Sanifers brand, logo and app are our property. They may not be reproduced without written permission.

10.Liability

Sanifers is responsible for its own obligations: holding the funds, running the platform and handling disputes.

Sanifers is not responsible for the quality, conformity or lawfulness of the items, which are the seller’s responsibility, nor for damage resulting from use of the service contrary to these terms.

The service may be interrupted for maintenance or for an external cause (network outage, provider failure). We give notice when it can be foreseen.

No clause can set aside the rights that Ivorian law grants consumers on a mandatory basis.

12.Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Ivorian law.

In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution is sought first: write to support@sanifers.com. Failing agreement, the competent courts of Abidjan have jurisdiction.
